Maui has been voted the best island in the world and I visited for only 2 weeks? Oh well. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit home and was thrilled to see my family. I love you all!
Now, time fo' run um haad in Oahu.
After 2 1/2 years, I'm finally back in the islands! Maui is better than I remember, so I've decided to capture it with my new 35mm. Pt.2 comin' next week. — Kaloe
Chouttakes is all the leftover footage I had after releasing Chout. It's all the warm-ups, bails, falls, and other goodies that I couldn't fit into the rest of the video. I also put in some extended clips for good measure. This first one is all Bodez. Bodie stepped behind the camera since wrapping up Chout and took my spot as the filmer of our crew in Maui. Him and Sam are working on a new part together and from what I hear, Sam has been one-upping himself all over Maui. I haven't seen anything yet but if you've seen his last part, you'll get an idea.
Chout is our last full-length short promotional film for Maui. Like the rest of our videos, it features the best skateboarders on the island. This video is all the good stuff we've gotten since 'Fast Kine' and then some. Actually, some of it was shot during shooting for Fast Kine while my vx1000 was broken. All the boys went for broke and got broke filming for this, but Sam redefined that old saying "go for broke" because he went even after he was broken.
I was actually going to hold off on posting this and print copies of it to DVD, but I thought, going to the movies based on that awesome trailer you seen last year and paying $10 only to get shit smeared in your brain isn't fun. This is why content should be free. People should choose if they want to sit in shit. This is why we made it so you can sample it on the YouTube, and then if you're feeling generous, you can support us by buying a digital download here. It's only $1 and you can always whenever without needing to go to our YouTube page or dealing with stupid ads. It's all in good fun and we're gonna be skateboarding and making videos regardless, but you can help us to cover the costs that went into making this video like gas $, memory cards, camera equipment, #1 BBQ, etc. so we can keep making videos and inspiring others to do the same. - Kale K
