Back in October, HUF picked 18 skate shops from across the country to wear test an unreleased shoe. The objective was to have one rider film a part in the one pair of shoes over the month of November. APB was one of the chosen shops, so Kaikea, being flowed by HUF, was given the task. Despite dealing with consistent rain, his car breaking down, and major stomach problems, Kaikea was a champ and managed to log 4:00 of raw footage.
In words, this challenge sounds daunting. I don't think I've done more than 20 tricks on this thing. 46 at 46 (technically 45 at the time) sounded insane! But after watching this, you already know he has more tricks in his bag. Larry proves age is just a state of mind and that skateboarding is in fact a fountain of youth. Truly inspiring Larry!

Here's more photos from that dead Pentax point and shoot. They sort of encapsulate what goes on majority of the time on our weekend filming missions...
I bought an old Pentax 35mm point and shoot from a Treehouse swap meet a couple months ago. Sometime shortly after I got a text from Ryan saying he gave my number to the AYC team manager and that they're gonna hit me up for spots. Oh, and think big... Nyjah and Jaws are coming. Long story short, I drop them a few some pins and got to jump aboard the yacht for a day! My first yachting experience was not what I expected, I actually thought I was gonna get wet. I didn't... in any sense of the saying... but I did get to see Nyjah do some pretty cool tricks. I think he broke my camera too because it didn't work the same after that day... I managed to shoot one and a half rolls before it died. If film isn't dead, it must surely be at the very least diabetic. Big mahalo to Brennan, Mike, and the AYC crew!
Kaloe has been super busy down-under. He's ripping and making videos for UPS, working on a collaboration with the boys at Uno, and getting ready for his first solo art show. And he's vegetarian. If you knew Kaloe before he left Hawai'i, that's probably his biggest accomplishment thus far. Keep up the good work!
